Never again

"The neighborhood friends may disappear,
But dinosaurs go away."
Dinosaurs, Charly Garcia.

21% of the 30,000 missing suffered by Argentina during the military dictatorship, were students. It was no accident, we were left orphans of ideas, fighting, militant youth politics for years. The dinosaurs are disappearing, as there are still some hangover from society, but youth is going to have political significance, a sign that the wounds are healing. A 35-year
coup, NEVER AGAIN.

Threading Eyebrows Calgary

tell stories that are not culpable

woman from novels. They are of poetry, prose, stories or short stories. I prefer a good novel, but occasionally need to change a little, this summer, I went to two very different storybooks each other.

Victorian Tales of love, is a selection of love stories by various authors of the Victorian era.
The 22 authors of the anthology, sorted by date of birth, among those who are great writers. "begins with a story of Mary Shelley, the renowned author of Frankenstein, in order to link the romance and Gothic novel, Victorian literature."

"The Victorian period, with its desire for the true and reasonable, concern for decency and the acceptance of authority and orthodoxy, was a disproportionate literature and splendor of the English novel. But at the same time, thanks to the lowering of printing techniques and the middle class access to reading, the profusion of newspapers and magazines, which include short stories needed to fill their pages, pushed the genre of story, which then reached an extraordinary flourishing. The love, feeling as complex implications, was to have a relevant conflict in a society firmly geared to utilitarianism, as reflecting the greatest novels of passion and tactical performance of Jane Austen. Victorian tales of love provides an extensive, amazing and wonderful selection of love stories, prepared and translated by Marta Salis, which covers the whole spectrum of feelings so deep in the heart as a determinant for the confrontation of different social strata. From many different angles and treatments, twenty-author Mary Shelley to DH Lawrence, to Dickens, Stevenson, Conrad or Kipling, as well as some unfortunately unknown in our language, provide a rich panorama of suffering and of the intricate mazes of desire loving this extraordinary experience and common
still incalculable consequences.
"

Some stories I liked more than others. At last justice is done (Elizabeth Gaskell), the assistant parish (Charles Dickens), The Cave Malacha (Anthony Trollope), Who Killed Zebedee? (Wilkie Collins ), Amy Foster (Joseph Conrad), a single day (Henry James) were my favorite stories. Thanks for reading Amy Foster discovered that the film Swept sea, is based on this story.
I read the book a little, story time, but to get to Dickens, irony-laden phrase stuck with me.
"But love is blind, and Nathaniel was squinting, and it is likely that the sum of these two circumstances prevent him from seeing things as they are. "

To not sickly so many loves, reading interspersed with tales from the United Dangerous JRR Tolkien's .

Anyone who knows me, knows my tendency geek about this author. Not for nothing, I have a giant poster of Aragorn in my bedroom, or use the princess Arwen as profile photo .

"Tales from the Perilous Realm in a single volume brings together five stories of fantasy and adventures written by JRR Tolkien and illustrated by Alan Lee . These short papers reaffirm Instead of Tolkien as a storyteller for readers of all ages. "

Roverandom The first story is the story of a puppy is to become a toy for a witch and her adventures to return to normal. It's a great story to read to a child, Tolkien wrote to comfort his young son when she lost her favorite toy on a beach.

The second story is about Farmer Giles of Ham, a common man who will stand up a dragon, by a combination of fate and chance. It has the ingredients of classic stories and said that he also wrote it to entertain their children.
The third story is The Adventures of Tom Bombadill and other poems in the book red. Who read The Lord of the Rings, you know this character that appears in The Fellowship of the Ring, but was removed from the film. Recounts some of his adventures in a beautiful rhyme. The fourth story is
Smith of Wooton Major, a story full of fantasy, about being a better person and pass the knowledge we've gained.
The last story, Leaf by Niggle, is a story that came to him in dreams. It's about not procrastinating and somehow describes purgatory.

stories full of magic for young and not so young.

all hide some pleasure fault, one of mine is watching American Idol. For those who do not know, is a reality-format program, which seeks the next star of world music.
The program has 9 seasons in the air and begins with the Pre-selective auditions to the weekly shows, where people vote for their favorites. Whoever wins, secures a contract with a label and a lot of promotion. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, are some artists who come out of this program.
But to prove that they are wrong, the entry is dedicated to three artists that I like and which was rejected at auditions.

Hillary Scott , was rejected not once but twice. After that, he joined Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood and formed Lady Antebellum, country group just sweeping the last Grammy (Best Country Album, Record of the Year, Best Performance by a duo or group vocal for "Need you now "and Best Song).
For those who think it is not their style of music, give it a chance but they have been heard before.

Colbie Caillat is a pop and country singer, known for her duet with Jason Mraz Lucky lyrics (which earned them a Grammy). It has two discs
and is preparing the third. With a smooth style, a quiet voice and beautiful songs, ideal for relaxing moments.

Amber Riley, better known as Mercedes Jones on Glee, an actress and singer. Anyone who has seen the series, is the African-American-style strong voice Aretha Franklin. A spectacular voice, which was rejected at age 17 by the producers of American Idol.

All three have shown that AI is wrong and if you have talent, you need a reality show to become famous.
With this entry, I hope to meet one of my resolutions for the blog, put more comments music. Would you like these recommendations.

How To Make A Phiten Necklace Shorter

The Big Bang Theory

Who would have believed that a number of "nerds" or "geeks" would be a success for the tv?
The Big Bang Theory revolves around the friendship of four very smart guys they have serious difficulty relating (ie, some nerds), and his friendship with a neighbor hot.
Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons ), has an IQ above the rest of us ... and knows it. It is believed superior to others and has clear signs of having a conduct disorder (Asperger maybe?). With a serious inability to relate to others, dreams of becoming a robot, loves trains, has "its place" in the chair, is a fan of comics, Star Trek, and already has two restraining orders against him, Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock) and Stan Lee (creator of the famous cartoon series).
is unable to detect sarcasm, and it is almost impossible to smile convincingly. It is orderly, cleaning maniac and fully structured. Leonard
Consider your best friend, Penny and Raj as good friends and Howard, a renowned appreciated. Has two arch enemies, Leslie Winkle and Will Wheaton. According to Leonard, is a laboratory accident to be a supervillain.
Your Penny, Penny, Penny, while knock three times the door and shout of triumph Bazinga!, as are his trademark.

Thanks to his character, Jim Parsons, and has won several awards and is the favorite.
Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galeck i) is the roommate of Sheldon. Despite being highly intelligent, often despised by his friend because he finished his doctorate at age 24. Are bearing the eccentricity of Sheldon and try to be their link with others. Is in love with her neighbor, Penny, with whom he maintains a fluctuating relationship.
Penny (Kaley Cuoco ) is a Nebraska girl who dreams of becoming an actress, while waiting for it compliance, works as a waitress at Cheesecake Factory. Disorganized and somewhat ignorant, but attractive and very sociable, is the contrast with his new friends what causes laughter.
Wolowitz Howard (Simon Helberg ), is the engineer of the group, unique in not having a doctorate. According to Sheldon, engineers are "Oompa Loompa of science" (referring to dwarf workers Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). It is believed a lover and tries to seduce anything that moves, almost always without success. He lives with his mother, a gruff character who only heard the voice. Ramayan
Koothrappali Rajesh (Kunal Nayyar ), is from India and has a severe problem of shyness in front of the women, which can not talk, unless it is under the influence of alcohol. When he can overcome his selective mutism, is a great success with women.
is an astrophysicist and has had great appreciation for having found a new planet (Planet Bollywood). Howard is the buddy and partner-style discussions are very funny.

As fans, the best chapters are "The Duck Adhesive Deficiency" (where the kids are a little intoxicated) and "The Gothowitz Deviation" (Sheldon Penny treated like a lab rat.)
A series that shows us that everyone has a hidden nerd.

Black Dots Come Out Of Dogs Fur

Another year

midnight lamp in front of the television to cultivate the Cholula.
As classes start tomorrow and again I face the challenge of 1 degree, I write while watching the 83 th Academy Awards.
Young, beautiful and friendly hosts, Anne Hathaway and James Franco, who have the task of capturing a young audience that is far from stuffy such events.
If one word sums up the delivery of this year, that should be predictable.
All major category awards are expected.
The evening begins with a great (and I do not mean his 94 years), one of the survivors of Hollywood Gold, Kirk Douglas, who delivers the category of Supporting Actress . It takes Melissa Leo for her role in The Fighter, a favorite category (although I had my little heart for the girl from True Grit).

In the category of Animated , everyone knew that the prize gave it Toy Story 3 , something is the only category that also compete for Best Picture.
As a Latina, expected to win Mexico's Biutiful as Best Foreign Film, but lost to a Dane. A pity, but I was glad to see lose Bardem (not stand).
Best Supporting Actor arrives and the favorite of the season, Christian Bale, takes the statue. A great actor who has been working since I was a child and that finally recognizes him.

When it Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Screenplay is time to pay attention. Normally, winning the Best Film category in its script. The Social Network and The King `s Speech . Appear to be among them, I begin to pray that is not the first.
After several technical categories (divided between Inception and Alice in Wonderland mostly), comes the musical, one of my favorites. Earn
as Partituria Best Original The Social Network. Nor do I remember his music, I doubt it's that good. Time
funny music video with parts of Harry Potter, Eclipse, The Social Network "and" Toy Story 3.
second standing ovation of the night, when it enters the funny Billy Crystal, and I realize what it strange as a presenter.
After Crystal, Holmes and Watson enter or Downey Jr. and Law, very funny, showing the great sense of humor and the chemistry they have together. Inception takes the visual effects, more than obvious, because the film needs these to bring the dream world to the screen. The Edition takes him home The Social Network, it starts giving me a bad feeling.
At last Best Song, Jennifer Hudson (former American Idol contestant and Oscar winner), enter the best dressed of the night (thought it would not comment on clothes?). Randy Newman wins We Belong Together of Toy Story 3 .

time to remember those killed last year with Celine Dion singing the wonderful Smile from Modern Times. Pianta a tear to me. John Barry, Tony Curtis, Gloria Stuart, Leslie Nielsen, Pete Postlethwaite, Lynn Redgrave, Dennis Hooper, Blake Edwards and many more. We arrived at
more expected categories.
Best Director, who will win, whoever wins is usually as a movie, so they say. Hilary Swank introduced to Katherine Bigelow, who gives it to Tom Hooper by The King `s Speech and start breathing. Annette Bening
presents awards given to people before "little" of the industry as Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sign
Jeff Bridges to name the winner as Best Actress , voice vote, he takes Natalie Portman , great dancer in her role as neurotic.

The america's sweetheart, Sandra Bullock takes the stage for presented the award to Colin Firth . Come on, everyone already knew who won as Best Actor .

And being 1:30, made an appearance an unknown director, a certain Steven Spielberg, to deliver the prize for Best Film , and takes ... The king's speech . Glad you did not win The Social Network and I feel sorry that did not gain anything True Grit. Final
with children singing Somewhere over the rainbow, a timeless classic with all the winners of the night.
A year too predictable, too politically correct, and now, to expect that 2011 will be of great productions to enjoy.

Suspenders Pants Hanging On

2011 Oscar Academy Awards are coming

A few days after the Oscar awards, I enjoyed several of the nominated films.

True Grit (Temple of Steel), marks the return of the Coen brothers and the Western genre. I'm not a lover of westerns, but I loved it and the time flew by me.
adaptation of Charles Portis's book tells the story of Mattie Ross (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld), a 14 year old girl who seeks to avenge the murder of his father. To do this hire a grumpy old alcoholic, famous for bringing more dead than alive their prisoners. The Sheriff Reuben "Rooster" Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), is increased by a Texas Ranger, La Boeuf (Matt Damon), and between the three, undertake a search which must adapt or separate.
The performances are excellent. The girl shows great strength and character, seems to have a history of movies behind, instead of being its first major project. Jeff Bridges confronts the sheriff decadent highlighting the funny side and Matt Damon is a "ranger" somewhat pedantic and proud, both men rough, will soften a bit before the charisma of Mattie.
The direction of the Coen shows. Because even though the issue would for cheap shots and drama, focuses more on the relationship between the three characters, with large doses of humor.
Without having seen the first version that made this book, with John Wayne in the lead (that never bore, I hope not to offend anyone), I think this new adaptation is excellent. Entertains, is beautifully filmed with great scenery and beautiful music, and most importantly, very good performances. I think that is what I liked most about the nominees (head to head with Toy Story 3 ).

awarded five "Lucianitas" five.

The King's Speech (Speech of the King), shows the efforts of George VI (father of the present Queen of England), to overcome his stuttering.
Before the advent of radio and television, had little importance for people if their king was deaf, blind and mute. Just knowing of its existence was sufficient and there were few who had the privilege to see him sometime.
With the advent of the media, the image of the kings became part of the daily lives of his subjects.
George VI (Colin Firth) has difficulty expressing themselves in public. It would be a big problem if it was not his brother, Edward VIII (Guy Pearce) took the decision to resign in order to marry a divorced woman (Charles notes), forcing him to take the throne of England.

His wife (Helena Bonham-Carter) seeks help to overcome his disability and, almost without hope, uses a speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush).
unorthodox methods of this character will collide with the rigidity of the future monarch, the relationship "professional" will lead to the establishment of a sort of friendship between them.
Excellent performances, but too politically correct for my taste. The ideal candidate for the awards for three reasons, is on the test (Hollywood loves awards), the protagonist has to overcome a disability, and his first speech is to give strength to his people against the Nazi threat.
As a curiosity, Colin Firth, who played Mr Darcy for the BBC, briefly crosses his Elizabeth Bennet, Jennifer Ehle, who plays Ms. Logue.
A sort of My Fair Lady, Eliza Doolittle nothing but this time is a king.
My rating, three "Lucianitas" and a half.

The Kids Are All Right (The kids are good or my family), is a low-budget films as part of those selected. Joni
(Mia Wasikowska) and Laser (Josh Hutcherson) are two teenage siblings with a somewhat atypical family. His mother (Annette Bening and Julianne Moore) are a lesbian couple who took turns to them with the same sperm donor.
For the typical curiosity of young people, make contact with their father (Mark Ruffalo) and try to integrate it into their lives to the initial surprise and anger from their mothers.
What starts out a little wrong, seems to improve when they met, but through the establishment of ties, a family crisis and a pinch of adultery, complicate what looked like it could work. Moral
, gay couples have the same problems as a heterosexual. It's entertaining, but falls in some clichés. Well acted, evenly, highlighting Annette Bening as a "man of the house" and Julianne Moore as the wife undecided. "

It takes two "Lucianitas."

The Social Network (the network), tells the story of the creators of Facebook, a site that began as fun and turned to Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg), one of the world's youngest billionaires.
The story goes back, of this, where Zuckerberg is sued by his former friend and co-funandor, Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield) and Winklevoss twins (both played by Armie Hammer), flashbacks to the past where it follows the social network evolution.
While the success of Facebook is growing, interests, friendships of convenience and the scramble for money will also grow.
Mark Zuckerberg will not let it stand. It starts as a typical geek, the computer genius with few friends and a loser with women, and is becoming a bit jealous guy, very pedantic, left if you should handle and which is far from the only person who appears to be your friend.
I hated the character so I was glad not to have my facebook account.
Winklevoss twins are portrayed as opportunists, the typical successful kids and money, Richie Rich who always get their way.
no memorable performances, I think the nominations will remain large and in a few months and will not remember that vi.
Two "Lucianitas" three.

After seeing these four, I have three films nominated without seeing ( The fighter , 127 hours and Winter's bone), however, I do not see them because they are issues not attract me at all. The reasons, firstly I do not like boxing, secondly, the real stories make me nervous (especially if someone has cut his own arm to survive), and thirdly, to the misery of a poor family I see every day when I go to work and that I have enough.
The other nominees Black Swan, Inception and Toy Story 3 have already had their tickets.

The Sequence Of Constructing A Wall

Estio

waited until I got the summer to read Summer (ESTI) of Edith Wharton. I had bought quite and acknowledge that he knew nothing about the plot, had identified only by their author.
has been a great read, a delightful experience that rarely happens and I met early with the book in my hands without being able to leave by the desire to know what will happen to the character.

is a simple and complex story about a young woman of mysterious origins, Charity Royall, a librarian in a quiet New England town. The author departs from high society in New York and immersed in the monotonous life of North Dormer, without losing the great way to describe the complexity of his characters, their feelings and places.

was blind and insensible to many things, and I hardly knew, but all that was light and air, perfume and color, every drop of your blood react. She loved the roughness of the dry grass of the mountain under the palms of his hands, the aroma of thyme is pressed against the face, the play of the fingers of the wind in their hair and through her cotton blouse and the crunch the larches as they swayed in it. Often
up the hill and lay there, alone, for the pleasure feeling the wind and rubbing his cheeks against the grass. Usually in those moments he thought of nothing but lay immersed in an unspeakable comfort.

Charity's character seemed bold and ahead of its time. Falls for a young architect who visits the village and discover their sexuality with him.
is a young rebel (very rebellious if you consider it was written in 1917), whose risky behavior induced by the audacity of first love, will have to make difficult decisions bear the consequences of his recklessness. Wharton
loses its keenness and his criticism of "double standards" prevailing. Charity and attitude
the world carried front (like most teenagers), it became unbearable at times, causing the urge to give it a few strokes to see if they reacted and kept complaining. At such times, a person with some experience to where the lead is much disagreement and recklessness, as noted by Mr. Royall, the man who lives since I was little, who loves her and can witness the problems in which she steps, unable to prevent the kite. Mr. Royall
leaves us with an ambiguous feeling. At first it seems to be an old drunk and a little degenerate (in love with the girl who grew up), but on the other end shows face and ends of compensation.
As in other books of this author, do not expect happy endings, but in what I have used, has a glimmer of hope in him.

When I finished, I looked for the existence of an adaptation of the book. Unfortunately, for now there is only a draft by Carl Spraguer .

For the holidays, I received by mail a gift from Noel (I swear that I have your wrapped package, only that I have not gone through the mail!). Inside, I found a beautiful little picture painted by her and a book, The Garden of Josefina Aldecoa .

never read this author who was one of my first readings of the year.

To Adriana, a successful professional, has been without doubt throughout his youth. But the disappearance for a few months of Edward, her husband three years ago, and the covenant whereby they agree not occur or be requested explanations, opening a crack in a seemingly perfect.
The only clue is a postcard Adriana has Eduardo from Lanzarote. And she is driven to travel when the incident appears definitely closed. His meeting with people who knew her husband, amid a primeval landscape dominated by volcanoes, palm trees and sea, will provide An unknown picture of the man she has lived for fifteen years.
The slow pace of the existence of the natives, in which the protagonist is immersed for the first time in his life, will offer the opportunity to question their principles. And the encounter with the passion of love crumble his firmest beliefs.

The book is about finding answers and how, while trying to understand the behavior of her husband, the island and its natives, will change your life.
Narrated in first person, but different characters have different views about the same event. And, as Adriana is discovering the secret of her husband, start to build his own mystery.
Very easy to read, short, well-told and with a beautiful ending.

Wine Doesn't Give Me Heartburn

Beyond the life of Anne Shirley

Death is something we come to all and no person who has not ever thought about what happens when we die. The different faiths are explained, scientists seek writers imagine and, as one would expect, the film also takes care of the issue.

Beyond life (Hereafter) is directed by Clint Eastwood, an artist I like a lot more as a director than as actor.
With three characters whose tragic stories happen in different parts of the world, Eastwood tells a story simple, yet simple, complicated.
bad thing about being a fan of film, is that they often go to the movies knowing too much about the plot, which takes away the element of surprise. The film introduces the characters at specific moments in recent world history very well filmed and no cheap shots, but hit by the memory we have of them.

Lelay Marie (Cécile De France), a French journalist who survived a natural disaster you need to share what he experienced during the brief moments he was dead.
Marcus and Jason (Frankie and George McLaren), London twins with a life worthy of Dickens. Because of a tragedy, Marcus left alone and pain not allow you to move on with your life. George
Lonegan (Matt Damon), a lonely man (perhaps his name playing with it.) He lives in San Francisco and has a regular job, but hides an extraordinary gift, the power to contact the dead.
Three stories linked by one thing in common, something that will unite despite the great distances that separate them and show us, as a common decision or a change of plans can change the course of our lives.

Despite the strong criticism it was a great movie. I think they were unfair to compare it with other productions of this director. This is a topic "supernatural" made as natural as possible, with narration slow and music that accompanies the rhythm and tone of the film.

What I liked? The site chosen as a meeting point of three characters, that George was a fan of Dickens Lonegan, the actions of all actors (including the brief appearance of Bryce Dallas Howard), the scene of reading Marcus (bring tissues) and , music (original and aggregates, such as Rachmaninoff, Bizet and Puccini).

A thrilling film, a credulous and incredulous. What more could you ask for?

Continuing with the theme, Never let me go (Never let me go, Mark Romanek), is a film based on the book by Kazuo Ishiguro (not read, but I recommended).
Narrated in a historic moment uncertain, tells the story of three children raised in a "private school" English. Submission, respect and obedience to the rules.
There are indications that give us the feeling that something is hidden, everything is too perfect, everything is very polished. Teachers who rebel and stories that circulate, they hit us with surprise that the pathetic lives of children are not only prospective organ donors. Auto parts are alive, those who try to raise as automatons without feelings, something time will show that it is impossible.

In the stifling atmosphere and thought the film, the three protagonists in a love triangle will grow while waiting to make your first donation.
Injustice possible death sentence that implies is painful, but they are defeated, abide by their bleak future without claims, with little hope and a resigned acceptance. Carey Mulligan is incredible, the implicit sadness in his eyes that conveys rebel cause by it. Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield accompany them, but the weight of the film is in the character of Mulligan.

Science Fiction, ethical dilemma and drama, a vintage look, a picture somewhat monochromatic, the delicate music of one of my favorite composer, Rachel Portman, and a great performance.
A very good movie that leaves us with a sad taste in the mouth, the inability of the characters look down their arms without a fight.

Xepisode Mobile On Ipod Touch

More Ioan Gruffudd

Following my reading of the saga of our girl from Avonlea, reread Anne of the Island and Anne of Windy Poplars .

In Anne, Island, is already a young lady who still maintains his wonderful soul dreamer. This is the book where we will mature, where it becomes a young woman who takes his first steps in love, you are wrong and learn from their mistakes.
The simplicity of the story makes it ideal to be read by many young people as adults, but the reflections it leaves us, in passing, it may go unnoticed in young minds.

"And it was richer in dreams than in reality, because what you see, pass, more unseen is eternal"

This simple sentence, written late in the first chapter, reminds me of what is said Fox Prince by Saint-Exupéry, "It looks good but with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye" .
A reflection on the ephemeral certain things and sustainability of the important ones.

"And then I discovered that if there is nothing more charming than the solitude with dreams, there's nothing worse than loneliness without them"

What would we do without being able to dream? The power to imagine with the eyes open and plan what we want for our future but our imagination is not as active as that of Ms. Shirley.

In Anne of Windy Poplars , our young heroine faces his first serious work and away from home. Committed to Gilbert, who studied medicine, will be away for three years, maintaining his love correspondence.
Many of the chapters of the book are the letters that Anne wrote her fiance.
Perhaps one of the books more "boring" (if this girl's life can be boring), it introduces many new characters and see a few old ones, to which they are a bit strange.
is a transitional book, divided into the three years that Anne acts as principal at Summerside High School, home to the tower of Windy Poplars. In it, I found a sentence which I identified totally with Anne.

"I hate to lend a book I love (I never seem the same when I return it )..." Hate
lend my books dear! I do not know if I feel different, but I have a panic that I did not return. Normally, only lend books that I liked. So you know, if I pay a book is probably not very good.

I close the entry with the reflection that makes Franklin Wescott (one of the new characters), on the way to win a race using cunning.

, "Always remember," he said solemnly, "there are more than one way to skin a cat. It can be done so that the animal never know who has lost the leather."

Play Pokemon Silver On My Phone

clarify that I am not a fan of this actor unpronounceable name, the entrance leads only because it participates in two productions which I will comment. Ioan Gruffudd
, is best known for two things, for his role in The Fantastic 4 for being partner in the excellent Matthew Macfadyen Warriors (hahaha).

In Amazing Grace (2006), plays William Wilberforce , one of the top fighters for the abolition of slavery in England in the late eighteenth century.
As this struggle was against the interests of powerful enemies gained important and ridicule of many. The fifteen years that hard-won said the abolition raged on their health.
To show how difficult it was Logar victory, the film combines the story of two times, the young, full of optimism and idealization and premature old age, with its doubts and dissent.
Many of the flashbacks are in the company of his romantic interest, a girl who admires him and he tells the details of their struggle, played by Romola Garai (another girl girdled).
historical film is a typical English perfectly set, correctly acted in major roles with excellent actors in supporting roles (Michael Gambon, Albert Finney, Rufus Sewell, Ciaran Hinds, Toby Jones). Michael Gambon as Charles
Fox, a member of parliament for disagreeing with the protagonist will end by allying with him, steals several scenes. The same goes for Albert Finney, who plays John Newton , a former slave trader who repented of his life and becomes a Protestant pastor who also was the author of the famous hymn that gives the film its title.
Impeccable in its accomplishment, but terribly slow and heavy most of the film.

After reading Great Expectations (Great Expectations, Charles Dickens), I decided to see the adjustment made by the BBC in 1999.

Miniseries into two parts which tells the story of Pip (Ioan Gruffudd) from childhood to adulthood, his relationship with Miss Havisham (Charlotte Rampling ), his dream of becoming a knight, his failure and his unfathomable love for Estella.
The first part of the series, greatly respects the development of the book. It is an almost literal adaptation. The second part, covering over youth and adulthood, I was a little disappointed by the liberties taken with the book. Changed some important things, omitted other and made to Estella Havisham ( Justine Waddell), too "good" for my taste.
Perhaps my objections are guilty of having too cool the novel my head.
BAFTA award winner, is well done and well acted.

I say goodbye until the next entry, leaving them with one of the many versions of the hymn is Amazing Grace. One of the songs "spiritual" more beautiful.

Remember to visit the links if you want to see these productions.

Seems Of My Leather Couch Ripped

a couple of years ago I saw the movie Silk (Silk), about a young French soldier (Michael Pitt), in the nineteenth century, who travels to Japan to buy silkworms and how those trips will change your life and relationship with his wife (Keira Knightley).
The movie has a beautiful photograph and a story that could give more. Or so it seemed to me. Since then, he wanted to read the book by Alessandro Baricco .
is a short novel or long story short, the chapters are no more than three pages, with a precise language, simple, sometimes poetic, which is read in a day but that is recorded forever.

Hervé Joncour, the young protagonist, is a simple character, without much dialogue, which becomes infatuated with a Japanese woman who has no oriental features, like a little girl and stare (some pederast?). I do not know if unromantic, but it is hard to imagine it was a "real love." To me, it's a fantasy that will be powered by a small piece of paper with symbols unknown to him.
Without knowing it, or not caring, this fad will have consequences to those around him.
Hélène, that the film is much more important role in the book is sporadic appearances, as the wife who claims to love but eventually it will end up showing who you loved more.

When I saw the movie, Michael Pitt I was dull, after reading the book, I think I played well.
"It was, moreover, one of those men likes attend to his own life, considering any ambition improper live. "

Baldabiou, the spinner, is the most interesting character in the book.
" A Baldabiou each had revealed no problems the secrets of the trade. That amused him much more than making lots of money. Teach. And have no secrets to tell. He was a man ".
A highly recommended book to read in a blink, which slips through your fingers like silk and is subtle in our memory.

" It's a strange pain. Die of nostalgia for something that will not live again ", Hervé confides to his friend. And, though I think a blind character, is a sentiment that I often encounter.
