Fear the Google! (II)
In my previous post talked about how Google was seen as the new incarnation of Big Brother knows web sites visited, are of news, opinion and entertainment, you can check our private messages, containing information and censor the information we create, whether this comes in the form of blogs, pictures or videos, and over can buy through the commercials that we put into our spaces. The true embodiment of Big Brother or God, as some argue (1 ).
The truth is that after the little speech about the importance of the privacy policy must have a service like those provided by Google, and how this policy can influence the user's preference, I asked myself, "and not Google did something like that with last year? ". And looking on the internet, I actually went like this: in early 2006, Google and Yahoo and Microsoft began to censor content to operate within Chinese territory, ie were sold to the dark interests of the Chinese government in exchange for staying in that market (2 , 3). Despite having become an unofficial part of the "Great Firewall of China", the Chinese system of Internet censorship, Google has not fallen so low by sharing confidential information stored on it, that privilege it fell to Yahoo, who was cede responsibility for the Chinese government information that contributed to the arrest of dissident Shi Tao (4 ).
As we see, the assertion of the journalist I quoted in my previous post that this private company could sell the information that someone has of us is true, only those who do their utmost to acquire other entities are not private, but governments interested in being informed about the activities of the governed. In other words, if one of these companies betrays the trust of its users is due to external pressure from the usual repressive, and not by evil traders. Privacy
